Prayers associated with this devotion are included on the final page, inviting readers to unite their own sufferings with those of Our Lady, and to find solace and strength in her compassionate intercession.

Devotion to the Mother of Sorrows is among the most ancient expressions of Christian faith, reaching back to the very origins of the Church. The Gospel itself places Mary at the foot of the Cross, steadfast in love as she shares in the suffering of her Son. Over the centuries, the Church has continually returned to this sacred moment, recognizing in Mary’s sorrow a unique participation in the mystery of redemption.
